Luke 1:35: Here’s perhaps the clearest passage on why we give the title of “Son of God” to Jesus. Those who knew the situation of his birth knew that he wasn’t born of normal ways. Born of a virgin he was at the least a miracle child coming directly from God because only God could have made this happen. This is the first piece of a much larger puzzle that makes up the full understanding of who Jesus is. Add to this the statements of John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:15 and Hebrews 1:3 to have a fuller understanding that he was more than a miracle baby. He was in fact the God of the universe, by whom all things were created, coming down in human likeness on mission. In John 3:16 Jesus himself tells us that his mission was for the salvation of who so ever would believe in him. We need to look at more than his title of “Son of God” and see that it was God himself coming into our midst for our salvation!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
