Intentional Ministry

Mark 1: 38-39: We must never think that the ministry of Jesus was random, or that he just wondered about the Judean countryside. Mark shows us that Jesus had real intention in what he was doing. He knew that his countrymen needed to hear him and experience the power of his ministry so he went from village to village preaching in their meeting places and healing people.
We also need to learn to be intentional about what we do as believers. How can we engage ourselves in bringing the message of the kingdom of God to “the nearby villages”? What does this kind of effort and lifestyle look like for a believer with a job, family and home? We need to see everyone through the eyes of Jesus, never again forgetting that he is at work in people’s lives speaking to them and preparing them for their encounter with him. Some of course are further along and more prepared to actually receive the message of the Kingdom of God, others need to just discover that God is there seeking them out. The bottom line is being prepared, being intentional like Jesus was intentional.
