Mark 15:5
Jesus’ silence is troubling. He faces a barrage of false accusations by the very ones he came to release from bondage to sin and death. He kept silent like a lamb being led off to death. In his silence he knew what awaited him, a cross, pain, separation from the love of the Father and all the fury that Satan could level against him. In his silence he also knew that on the other side of the cross there awaited him a victory unlike any man had or would experience. A victory that would change everything for humanity past, present and future. There was a power in his silence that must have certainly enraged both those who were accusing him and Satan. There was a resolve to obey and endure in his silence. His silence spoke more than any answer or retaliation that he might have offered in defence.
Thank you Jesus!
